The True Value of Faith: Following the Rituals or Following the Principles of Jesus?

Image
For a man who believes faith is the foundation of life. Apart from faith, no work, service, or participation in church has worth in the sight of God. The Bible teaches us that salvation is in Christ alone, not through rituals or customs. For it is written, “Without faith it is impossible to please God” (Hebrews 11:6) . This is why we start here. Faith is confused with ritual far too often. We think that going to church each Sunday or doing things man's way will make us righteous. But faith is likewise dead if it does not change the heart and the way we treat one another. Here is how Jesus himself put this: “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another” (John 13:35) . If we say the name of Jesus with our lips, but there is still hatred in our hearts or unforgiveness born through others' actions against us, then this confession is useless. Rituals can make you look holy, but they cannot save. Lighting a candle, shutting a prayer which we...

The Authority of Scripture

Image
The Christian proclamation that the Bible is the Word of God is not a reverent overstatement but a truth based on the teachings of the Bible itself. The apostle woos us to a love for everything in the text when they say that “all Scripture is breathed out by God” and “profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:16-17). Since all Scripture is God-breathed, it has God’s own authority; since it trains in every good work, it is sufficient for us in faith and life. That doctrine makes the Bible – rather than human tradition, personality, or preference – our ultimate authority for what we believe and how we behave. Evidence of Divine Authority Inspiration . Scripture’s authority derives from its source. It was not a product of religious fantasy or personal intuition. Instead, “Men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit” (2 Peter 1:21). T...

"From Brokenness to Redemption: Embracing God’s Free Gift"

Image
Salvation by Grace Through Faith When I ponder the mystery of salvation through grace, I feel the need to proclaim its wonder. The divine law is the key mechanism, and its application is the heart of our existence. God’s love is beyond what any human can fathom or understand, and the redemption he offers is a free gift that no man can earn through his deeds. It is through faith that the grace of God flows to a believer and bonds his soul with the Lord. When one truly acknowledges and submits to Christ, the miracle of salvation occurs—not through our own efforts but by the astounding grace of God. It is a type of grace that enters our broken lives, fixes and mends us, and brings us back to the presence of God. It is an intimate exchange of a fallen and weak human being with an All-powerful God of the universe, where our hearts and minds are overwhelm...

Jesus Is God: The Heart of Christian Faith Explained

Image
The Deity of Christ: Jesus Is Fully God   Jesus’ divine nature is the foundation upon which an entire structure of Christian theology and belief is built. From the very first page of the Scriptures to the last, God’s Word proclaims the total divinity of Jesus Christ.   1. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God. These lasting words proclaim Christ’s eternal existence and identity as God. He is not a created being but the divine Creator himself, preexisting with God, coequal and coeternal with the Father, sharing the same divine essence. Paul echoes this truth in Colossians 2:9, “For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily.”   The Old Testament prophecies about Christ repeatedly speak of His divine nature. Isaiah 9:6 says that He is “Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” ...

"The Ultimate Act of Grace: Unpacking Jesus' Forgiveness from the Cross"

'Father, Forgive Them' (Luke 23:34) 1.1 The Power of Forgiveness in Jesus' Final Moments The earliest reported words of Jesus from the cross are perhaps the most spectacular exhibition of divine forgiveness and love ever witnessed on earth. "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do" (Luke 23:34). During this time when the soldiers were busy in the process of crucifying Him on the cross, these words express the very essence of the character of God and the main objective of Christ's ministry on earth. The timing of this prayer is stunning beyond measure. Jesus had just gone through a night of betrayal, lying accusations, vicious sco...

Living Faith: How a Genuine Bond with God Transforms Your Everyday Life

Image
Christian Faith: A Living Bond with God Christian faith is about the genuine bond and connection with God, which goes beyond any knowledge or acts one may perform. Biblical faith is an active, living trust that permeates a believer’s soul and spirit. The biblical comprehension of faith is relational. Exodus 14:31 depicts faith as both trust and action: ” The people... believed in the Lord and his servant Moses” after God delivered them from Egypt. It shows that faith is an active principle in a believer’s life. The scripture talks about three kinds of faith. And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. ”Faith is the confidence that the Lord will do as He promised” (Hebrews 11:1). Faith’s disruptive power is a prevalent theme in the Bible. Look at Abraham, the father of faith, who was willing to sacrifice his son Isaac to God. The kind of faith that God accepted as righteo...

"The Trinity: A Theological Pillar of Christian Faith"

Image
God said, “LET US MAKE MAN IN OUR IMAGE, AFTER OUR LIKENESS.” The Trinity is one of the central tenets of Christian theology and one of the divine mysteries that has perplexed theologians through the ages. It states that God is eternal in one being and three co-existing, distinct and completely equal divine persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.   The Bible is very clear on this issue. Matthew 28:19 states that baptism is to be done “in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” which puts these three entities on an equal footing. John’s Gospel elaborates further. For instance, in John 1:1, the apostle proclaims that the Word (Jesus) was both with God and was God.   Theologians, such as Augustine of Hippo, profoundly enhanced the doctrine of the Trinity. In his trailblazin...
