🌟 When God Sent a Wolf Pack to a Priest's Dream (And Changed Everything)

I would like to continue with my earlier work on the life of St. John Bosco, as I feel it will make an impact on the readers. Continuing with this journey from his life, here is an interesting incident, which had a large impact on many young people at that time, and also brought them closer to God.

As we proceed, let us not venture into doctrines, since we only proceed for the sake of reference on how he brought the young lads closer or introduced them to His Blessings. And I'm outlining them by points.

"The dream was so vivid, John Bosco awoke drenched in sweat. Feral wolves raced around laughing boys, teeth exposed, fur standing on end. Then she appeared…"

The Night Heaven Whispered Through a Nightmare

Imagine this:

• 1844, Turin, Italy. A young priest tosses in bed, tormented by wolves snapping at dirty-faced boys.

• Not any ordinary dream, a message. Those wolves? Streets devoured orphans whole. Those boys? The ones that everyone else forgot.

• Then light. Mary appeared in blue, smiling and said: "Soft hands, not fists. Win them with love."

"Fun fact: This dream occurred 3 times. God really wanted his attention."

How a Scary Dream Became a Shelter (And Saved 6,000+ Kids)

John Bosco didn’t just pray about it. He:

1.         Turned a leaky shed into a home (complete with acrobatics to get boys in the door).

2.         Fed them pasta first, catechism second (hungry kids don’t care about theology).

3.         Taught them trades because sainthood starts with having shoes.

"But Father, we’re thieves and nobodies!"

"Funny," he’d wink, "so were half the saints."

"The original 'tough love'—Bosco's orphans became priests, printers, even saints."

Your Turn: Where's Your "Wolf Dream"?

That gut-punch when you see:

          A homeless vet outside.

          "Someone should do something…"

Bosco's secret?

Start small (one kid, one meal).

Lead with joy (juggle first, preach later).

Trust the real miracle: Love outlasts the wolves.

💬 Sweet & Simple Challenge

"Today, notice one ‘person’ and fight it with one act of kindness. (Then tell me below! ⬇️)"

"The dream’s still alive. You’re part of it."

🔥 Why This Matters in 2024

Bosco’s boys were " thieves and nobodies " until love rewrote their stories.

You?

Volunteer: Coach a kid. Buy a sandwich.

Share this story, someone needs to hear it. ❤️

As we continue to speak, let us reflect on the lives and actions of St. John Bosco and other saints who lived their lives with one mind and reflected on how they carried on their mission by bringing more souls towards the Heavenly Father.

P.S.

Next week: The 3-word parenting hack Bosco stole from Jesus. (Spoiler: It’s not "say your rosary.")
